My history

A US citizen born in Argentina, he is descended from Scottish, English, and Norwegian immigrants who pioneered farming and the railways in the 19th century. He was educated at St. Andrew’s Scots School, and later at Universidad CAECE, graduating with a degree in mathematics. He speaks both English and Spanish and has been educated in both languages. He is also knowledgeable in Portuguese, French, Italian, and German.

After graduating from university in 1977, he embarked on a transcontinental journey looking for work at American schools in South America. On the first leg of his railway journey, he crossed the Pampas and arrived in the city of Mendoza. His next trip was on the Transandino railway, which crossed the Andes into Chile. After some local interviews, he continued north, crossing the Atacama desert, and arrived in Arica where he boarded the train for La Paz in Bolivia. From La Paz he continued to Cochabamba and then to Santa Cruz de la Sierra. After an interesting journey through the Bolivian jungle by rail bus, he arrived in the Brazilian city of Corumbá and went to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, and Foz de Iguaçú. After visiting these famous waterfalls, he returned to Buenos Aires, eventually accepting a job in Brazil in 1978 and the US in 1982.

He taught mathematics and science for over 30 years in Argentina, Brazil, and the USA secondary schools and colleges. In 1999, he embarked on a new path, finding a second calling in Information Technology. Applying his analytical and logical skills, he delved into the world of design and coding. His work experience spans across various sectors, including corporations, federal government agencies, non-profits, educational institutions, local governments, and small businesses, showcasing his adaptability and versatility.

In 2023, he enhanced his creative talents using AI and published several books on children, nature, entertainment, and communication skills. This book distills his long public speaking experience garnered in education and business.

He currently resides in Rancho Mirage, CA.
